Cuba watchers love to speculate about the health (or even the life/death status) of Fidel Castro. But regardless of his current situation, Cuba is already moving into its post-Fidel period. Hatred for Castro has spawned a powerful political culture in the state of Florida and the proper US relationship to the island nation is one of the most contentious issues in Washington. But much of the discussion misses the real point: Cuba is changing. This workshop will explore several key dimensions of that change and ask, what lies ahead for the last “socialist paradise?”
